Mild winter leads to savings for state

While the past few days have been cold, the warmer than normal season has been beneficial to Kentucky in more ways than one.
The Boyle County Public Works Department reported nearly $80,000 has been saved so far due to the low demand for salt trucks and employees.
Over the past four years nearly 1,000 tons of salt has been used.
Overtime has also gone down from the usual 100 hours. The savings allows more money for future harsh winters.
