Voter Turnout Better Than Expected

Fayette County votes were projected to be an all time low in this year’s election, but last night’s results actually proved otherwise. Overall voter turnout for Fayette County was 33 percent, much better than expected. In fact, it was an increase from the 12 percent turnout of last election.
For Fayette County Clerk Don Blevins, this isn’t enough, though. This is still a low percentage for voter turnout and he says it shouldn’t be this way. There are methods which make it easy to register to vote and many precincts at which someone can vote. Therefore, Blevins says, there’s should be higher numbers than what we’re seeing.
Below, Blevins shares his thoughts on Fayette County’s low number of voter turnout.
