All dining halls and other sources of food on UK’s campus will close at 8 or 9 p.m. at latest during finals week, minus Ovid’s Cafe. From Sunday at noon to Friday at 2 p.m., this cafe at the east entrance of the Willy T. Young Library will be open 24 hours. Expect the lines to be long and unoccupied tables and chairs to be sparse. So, what else is open besides McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Taco Bell? Here is a list of fast late-night eateries you might want to consider.
1. Jimmy John’s
Located on South Limestone across the street from Holmes Hall, grab a sandwich for a great price from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. all days of the week.
2. Red Bang Bang
Craving Chinese fast food? Only $1 per scoop, and Thursday through Saturday it’s open from 11 a.m. till 3:30 a.m. For the rest of the days, might want to rush into there before 10 p.m. Located on West Maxwell Street.
3. Mad Mushroom Pizza
Pizza, lots of it. And pasta, salads, breadsticks and sandwiches. The one located on South Limestone is open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday to Wednesday, until 3 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday, and until 1 a.m. on Sunday.
4. Buffalo Wild Wings
Wings of all kinds, and B-Dubs will serve you from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and until 12 a.m. on Sunday. Located on South Broadway.
5. Tolly-Ho
Cannot forget about this iconic campus favorite, which is open 24 hours. Located on South Broadway.
6. IHOP
If you have a car or a friend who has one, you can go to IHOP, open 24 hours for breakfast foods and more. Located 2306 Palumbo Drive.
7. Sir Pizza
Friday through Sunday, the one on South Broadway is open from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. for your pizza needs.
8. Hardee’s
Open 24/7 on New Circle Road. I hear there are coupons for two X-tra Bacon entrees.
9. Goodfellas Pizzeria
Another pizza joint that is open late, located on South Limestone. Open everyday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
10. Denny’s
The one located on Nicholasville Road is closest to campus, plus it’s open 24 hours for those who want a sit-down diner kind of meal.
