Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been awarded the NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month award for November.
The former Kentucky Wildcat started 15 games for the Charlotte Bobcats during the month.
Kidd-Gilchrist averaged 10.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 blocks, 1.3 steals during those 15 games in which the Bobcats won 7 and lost 8.
Playing an average of 27.3 minutes per game, the forward has been an important part of Charlotte’s strong start to the season by their usual lowly standards.
Last season the Bobcats only won seven games all season, part of an ugly 7-59 record that included setting an NBA record for worst losing percentage in regular season history.
