The Cats will wrap up their third week at home facing SEC foe Ole Miss on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
This game will mark the 42nd meeting of the rivals and it looks to be a pretty fair match. Neither team has had a winning season. UK is currently 3-5 and Ole Miss is currently 2-6. Historically, Ole Miss has had more wins that losses against UK. However, UK has dominated its SEC foe at home.
UK head coach Joker Phillips has announced that freshman quarterback Maxwell Smith will be starting in the game. This is Smith’s first time to start for the Wildcats. Former starter Morgan Newton, a junior, was injured in last week’s game against Mississippi State. It is unclear whether Newton will be able to play in Saturday’s game at all.
